“The training helped me remember why I
wanted to become a teacher”

Primary School Teacher and Workshop Participant.

Children who have experienced trauma or toxic stress have little space left in their ‘learning brain’ for school.  Often the result of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), a trauma impacted child can be in a constant state of tension, arousal, leaving them unable to concentrate or retain information.  Many depict challenging behaviours in the classroom and playground.

Our Foundation Workshop provides an introduction to what complex trauma and toxic stress is and how it affects young people’s development at school.  Attendees can expect to leave with a better understanding of the neuroscience behind the behaviours presented by students who have experienced ACEs and be shown how to apply trauma-informed practices that promote safe and connected learning environments for students and staff.

Our Self-Care Workshop supports educators to understand, cope and manage their own emotional responses so they are better able to support students whilst also helping them to avoid burnout.
