About this workshop:

In this 3-hour workshop participants will develop an appreciation of the professional and personal risks related to working with people who have experienced trauma, as well as an awareness of symptoms of secondary traumatic stress & compassion fatigue.

Learning Goals:

  • Understand the importance of stress reduction and self-care and practice some effective stress-reduction strategies.
  • Develop their own selfcare “toolbox” and learn to plan for managing challenging situations more proactively, safely and successfully.
  • Learn strategies that incorporate expressive arts as a tool for participants.
