Announcing our new board chair: Paul Hines
A New Chapter for KidsXpress – Looking Ahead to a Bigger, Bolder Future

KidsXpress is entering an exciting new chapter with Co-Founder and Founding Deputy Chairperson Paul Hines stepping into the role of Board Chair. Paul has been a driving force behind KidsXpress since its inception in 2005. With our 20th anniversary on the horizon, his leadership comes at a pivotal time in our journey.

Paul brings a bold vision for the future, committed to expanding KidsXpress’ reach so that more children impacted by trauma and mental health challenges receive the support they need to thrive. Over the next five years, KidsXpress will focus on expanding into more schools, deepening our impact, and continuing to innovate in trauma-focused therapy and education

This transition holds special significance, as it brings together both co-founders at the helm – with Paul Hines as Board Chair and Margo Ward as CEO – a powerful testament to the enduring vision of KidsXpress.

“KidsXpress has always been about giving children a voice, helping them heal, and empowering them to reach their full potential,” says Paul. “My focus is on building on this legacy – growing our programs, reaching more schools, and ensuring that every child who needs our support has access to it. With an incredible team, a passionate board, and a shared commitment to making a difference, I’m excited for what’s ahead.”

Paul continues, “We have been very fortunate to have been led by Dr. John Hewson for the past 19 years. He’s been a great mentor in setting up KidsXpress and shaping it into the organisation it is today, and we thank him for his extraordinary contribution.”

This leadership transition represents continuity, growth, and a bold future for KidsXpress. With Paul’s leadership and the collective dedication of our board, staff, and supporters, we look ahead with ambition, passion, and a commitment to reaching even more children in need.

Together, we continue to create a lifetime of change.
